"The Devil Boat!" Cave Girl #12

Cave Girl was another jungle heroine, who had her own comic book. This particular story is from issue #12, which was published in 1953. The story was written by Gardner Fox and the art is by Bob Powell.

THE ORIGINAL BOOP-BOOP-A-DOOP GIRL By Helen Kane

Helen Kane was at least one of the inspirations for Betty Boop. Here is a Helen Kane comic strip, which is very similar to the Betty Boop comic strip that was being run in the papers during the same period.

Helen Kane sued over Betty Boop, but lost the suit, because it was pointed out that the act wasn't original to her. Still, her comic strip proclaims her as the "Original Boop-Oop-A-Doop Girl".

WIN A PRIZE COMICS #1

WIN A PRIZE COMICS was another Simon and Kirby title, this time for Charlton. The gimmick of WIN A PRIZE COMICS was that readers could win a prize from the publisher. No one seems to know if anyone actually won anything. The series could have simply ended before it got that far.
