Western Stars Appear On Television Special

WHEN THE WEST WAS FUN - Over 50 popular Hollywood actors and actress associated with big and small screen westerns were rounded up for this enjoyable ABC-TV special, Glenn Ford hosted the once-in-a lifetime sagebrush reunion, which aired on June 5, 1979 was sponsored by the Buick division of General Motors..
The biggest western star of all, John Wayne, was ailing and could not attend, but was given special mention by Glenn Ford during the program. The Duke died on June 11, six days after this program was telecast..
Roy Rogers and Dale Evans appeared on the show, but are not in this group picture. Gene Autry did not appear on the show.
