This JOHNNY REB story from early 1959 has the Jock Mahoney character "Yancey Dirango" in it, who first appears in the fourth episode and then becomes an ongoing character. John Wilkes Booth also appears as a character. This story is set in the Civil War and thus predates Booth's postwar assassination of president Abraham Lincoln.
