The character of Nyoka is a jungle girl and was supposed to have come from a novel of that name by Edgar Rice Burroughs, the creator of Tarzan. But actually the name "Nyoka" was the creation of the writers of the JUNGLE GIRL serial, and it was they who made her a sort of female Tarzan. The comic book Nyoka is based on Kay Aldridge in PERILS OF NYOKA, her costume sometimes being simplified ( as in this story ) to make things easier for the artist. Originally published in NYOKA THE JUNGLE GIRL #6 ( 1946 ).
