The Invisible Girl

The Fantastic Four can be seen as being related to Jack Kirby's earlier monster comic books and to the monsters of the movies that had come before them.

  

The Invisible Girl is similar to The Invisible Woman of  the 1940 movie, 

and has even been called "The Invisible Woman" in some of the more recent comics.

One of  similarities I notice has to do with the kicking of "bottoms".

It is possible that this was not a direct swipe, but it was in the movie, it was featured in the movie's publicity, and it was in the comic book version as well.
