This story was originally published in JOURNEY INTO MYSTERY in 1962. It was one of a number of science fiction and fantasy stories that Steve Ditko did for Marvel Comics in this period, which was around the time that he began working on SPIDER-MAN.

Note the old woman in the story who looks like the character of "Aunt May" in Spider-Man. It's not too surprising to see this, since Ditko was more or less drawing the same character over again in another story anyway. Aunt May was a more or less stock character to begin with, and about the same character had appeared in other comic books prior to this one.
