The Spectre: 1960's Revival In SHOWCASE #60

The Spectre was another creation of Jerry Siegel, who with Jerome Shuster had come up with Superman. The Spectre's adventures ran for several years in MORE FUN COMICS, but ended by the late forties. In the sixties, DC revived the character in SHOWCASE.

Originally it was clear that the Spectre was good and that his foes were bad. This issue's villain appears to be the Devil. Later on it somehow became less clear that the Spectre was good and the villians were evil. I felt that it ruined the comic book.
