This is a Doc Savage comic book that Marvel Comics published in the 1970's. The story is set in the period in which the pulp magazines were originally published.  Doc Savage's "fabulous five" and his cousin Pat all appear with him in this adventure.

  1. Benny,
There really was an Antarctic expedition in 1933 (the Second International Polar year). Wikipedia notes improvements made to the A82 in the 1920s and 1930s, so that might be the road work mentioned at the Loch. OTOH (as noted at http://www.docsavagelibrary.com/superhero-library/doc-savage/doc-savage-comic-details.aspx?id=DSM&issue=5 ) the Air Force song Monk sings wasn't composed until 1939.

Have you seen "Master of the Red Death" in Doc Savage #2 (Dec 1972)? That appears to be Pat's only other appearance at Marvel.
    Thanks!

  2. You're welcome, Darci. I'm not sure if I've seen that other issue, I might have. I used to go to comic book stores a lot and sometimes I would get Doc Savage comics.
