THE ADVENTURES OF SUPERMAN adapted this adventure for the episode PANIC IN THE SKY. The story was simplified somewhat for television and they put in the character of Jimmy Olsen*, although he did not appear in the original story.

This story has some similarities to the 1942 cartoon MAGNETIC TELESCOPE, which was evidently a source of inspiration.
THE MAGNETIC TELESCOPE:
*The emphasis on the character of Jimmy Olsen on THE ADVENTURES OF SUPERMAN means that it's not a program about the title character or even a show about the main characters in the comics of that time, but another version of the old radio show which was really about a "boy" ( played here by an adult ) who merely happened to be around Superman. It was somewhat dishonest, and more than slightly strange.
