Captain Wonder Meets Ann Sheridan

Captain Wonder seems much like Captain America, and Frank Giacoia's art seems much like Jack Kirby's. Frank Giacoia was also one of Kirby's inkers. Ann Sheridan may or may not have too much to do with the rest of this, but she's mentioned during the course of this story, which was originally published in 1943.

 In the Doc Savage adventure THE HEADLESS MEN, Monk calls a redhead named Lynda Ladore "The Oomph Girl of the movies". That would make her Ann Sheridan, who was termed "The Oomph Girl" at the time. The name "Lynda" means "pretty" in Spanish, while in French "L'dore"
would mean "the love".
