THE RUBY EYE OF THE MONKEY GOD

THE RUBY EYE OF THE MONKEY GOD was intended to be another component of the SALLY SARGENT show, an unsold pilot which was the last production of Terrytoons. Like SALLY SARGENT, it had Hanna-Barberra people working on it and it tends to resemble those cartoons, particularly JONNY QUEST. The business of the boy with the eye of an idol is also reminiscent of Sabu's adventures in THE THIEF OF BAGDAD.

Sally Sargent

Sally Sargent was the last production from Terrytoons. You could see her as another version of Pauline ( of  THE PERILS OF PAULINE ) or Fanny Zilch, although her adventures were actually more in the line of Jonny Quest. Some Hanna-Barbera people worked on this cartoon. Janet Waldo ( voice of Judy Jetson, Penelope Pitstop, Josie, etc. ) did the voice of Sally Sargent.

 

 

 

 

So it's not surprising that this cartoon looks like some of the Hanna-Barbera cartoons from the same period.
