An early science fiction story by Ross Andru ( later of Andru and Esposito fame ), originally published in UNCANNY TALES #15 in 1953. With that date, I think it might have been done because of THE WAR OF THE WORLDS movie that came out that year.
Although Timely/Marvel/Atlas had already done a couple of different Captain America stories on the War Of The Worlds theme even before this.
