Yvonne Craig compared to Leslie Gore, who was Catwoman's girl sidekick "Pussycat" on BATMAN. Yvonne and Leslie both appear similar to "Josie" of the Pussycats.

"The Swingers" - JOSIE AND THE PUSSYCATS

I always liked JOSIE AND THE PUSSYCATS. Although I did think it was odd when I noticed that they were de-emphasizing the blonde, Melodie, in later stories. But in this particular story, the girls all more or less play second fiddle to the more or less bad guys, Alex and Alexandria. Art is by Dan DeCarlo, and originally published in 1984.

Dan DeCarlo Fashion Pages

Dan DeCarlo was the creator of JOSIE AND THE PUSSYCATS. Here are a couple of fashion pages he did for that comic book.

 

 

 

"Josie" was based on Dan DeCarlo's wife, who was also named Josie. Melodie is similar to MY FRIEND IRMA, which was another comic book that Dan DeCarlo had drawn.

"Jetta" was much like "Josie" of  the "Pussycats", who would herself have space adventures in television cartoons. Not surprisingly, both girl characters were drawn by Dan DeCarlo.
