Ant Man: "I'm A Baaaaaaad Boy!"

Ant Man says he's been a bad boy.

And the Wasp says:

"You've been a very bad boy!"

Dale says of the Wasp: "This character was supposed to be Old-Rich-Family-Dutch from the New York City area (Think Roosevelt) and was named Janet Van Dyne. The Marvel Comics character was the center of some controversy, as mentioned by Benny on his blog recently. When she was the target of wifebeating attacks by her superhero husband. This was meant to draw attention to a real-life situation, BUT it has made her husband among the most thoroughly hated of all superheroes."

Deserverdly so.

Ant Man is haunted by his many failures.

The Era Of Hostess Comes To An End

Hostess, makers of cupcakes, twinkies, and fruit pies is going out of business after years of providing us with an assortment of prepackaged desserts.

Just imagine a world without hostess products.

In the comic books, heroes like Batman, Superman and Wonder Woman saved the day for us whenever we were threatened by a shortage of goodies. In real life we have no such champions and must fend for ourselves.

Of course, there's always Brand X.

LI'l Abner By Frank Frazetta

A

For a time, Frank Frazetta drew the comic strip "Li'l Abner"

And in this particular strip, he drew Marilyn Monroe.

Marilyn Monroe used to turn up a lot in comics. You'd see her in things like MAD back then. And sometimes they'd just draw a girl that looked like her without saying it was actually her.

They did that with Bettie Page, too.

Frazetta sometimes drew himself into the Li'l Abner strip as well:

Frazetta's girls were distinctively different from Al Capp's:

Al Capp drew girls with broad shoulders and narrow hips, something you see a lot in old comics. Frazetta drew girls with a big "Bottom".  He actually was much better at drawing girls than Al Capp.

Although I think that one looks a little funny.

Marie Wilson And Marie Windsor

Occasionally we see where Marie Windsor is misidentified as "Marie Wilson".

They're not really that much alike and they didn't play the same type of roles, only their names sound similar.

Marie Windor was a sinister-type brunette vamp

and Marie Wilson was a comedy dumb blonde.

Marie Wilson was a bosom queen

and Marie Windsor was a "Bottom" girl.

So it was really like the difference between night and day.

The most wonderful night ever

And the best day you ever had.

THE END
