INVISIBLE SCARLET O'NEIL #2

INVISIBLE SCARLET O'NEIL was a comic strip about a girl who could turn invisible. Harvey Comics reprinted some of the stories in comic book form. This is the second issue.

"Horrible Herman" - STRANGE TALES #14

A horror story from the Atlas period of Marvel Comics, 1952 to be exact, credited to Stan Lee and Joe Maneely.

Notice that they named the blonde "Betty" again, same as Betty Ross ( CAPTAIN AMERICA and later THE INCREDIBLE HULK ) and Betty Dean ( THE SUB-MARINER ). They killed the blonde in this story too, just like in CAPTAIN AMERICA, although she was no longer called Betty at that point.

"Coby" - EVERYTHING HAPPENS TO HARVEY #7

I thought this "Coby" story looked like it was drawn by Owen Fitzgerald. Published by D.C. comics in 1954, around the time he did WINNIE THE WAC, who was similar in appearance.

Editorial Cartoon

Another editorial cartoon.

And I'd have to say that the image of Obama as a "Messiah" is the way the media represented him rather then the way most people thought of him.

Family, Non-Album

Sounds like I'm married to a little nurse I haven't seen in twenty years. Will she be surprised.

'Sazzik The Sorcerer" -TOS #32

This story from TALES OF SUSPENSE #32 has the names of Jack Kirby and Dick Ayers on it, but not that of Stan Lee, who liked to take credit for everything. Maybe this time they just forgot to put his name on it.

This story was originally published in 1962, and I didn't often read the issues from that far back.

ABBOTT AND COSTELLO #15

ABBOTT AND COSTELLO #15 has art by Peters again on the cover.

But the pages inside appear to have been done by Mort Drucker.
