Basil Wolverton was famous for drawing weird things. SPACEHAWK had a lot of weird things in it. SPACEHAWK himself looked weird to begin with. This is the first SPACEHAWK story, which was originally published in 1940.

Superman meets King Kong, sort of. Notice that the same issue had a story with Lori The Mermaid, who was also supposed to have come from Atlantis.

The Phantom

The Phantom is a popular comic strip, which was created by Lee Falk.

The Phantom's girlfriend is named Diana.

Sala is another girl character in The Phantom comics. She was a member of The Sky Band, a gang of girl skyjackers.

In some countries, the name "Sala" is used for Diana, through confusion.

In 1943, The Phantom came to the screen in a Columbia serial.
