MAZIE THE MODEL is another pretty girl comic strip by the creator of FRITZI RITZ, Larry Whittington. But it was less successful than his previous strip, only lasting a few years in it's original run.

One of the things that interests me about this strip is that in the promotional artwork the character is dressed as a Spider Lady, something that seems to have been a recurring element in the artwork of the day.

Some Funnies From FAMOUS FUNNIES #28

Most of these comics are reprints, but some of them were evidently drawn for this publication. Notice that Queenie is looking at FAMOUS FUNNIES when an arrow goes by her in the second panel.

"A Small Place In Hell" - OUR FIGHTING FORCES #152

The Losers were a group of fighting men from different branches of the service who were supposed to have banded together during the second World War in a series of adventures published by DC comics. This particular adventure is by Jack Kirby, who was at that time working for DC after having made a success of Marvel comics, and who was about to return to that company.
