"Where Dead Men Walk!"

Reblogged from http://allthingsger.blogspot.com/

Art by Jerry Robinson. This story was presumably written by Stan Lee, but is not credited to him. He did not always receive a credit in the 1950's, although he made certain he got credited afterwards.

State Road Market

State Road Market was a store near our house where my father used to work when I was a boy: later it was replaced by a gas station.

There was a railroad overpass nearby which could flood when it rained, and I remember the local news showed my brother Dane help push a stalled car out of the water when it was flooded.

Family Album

Joseph Andrew Devine: James Huston, born James Pollock. His Father must have been a Civil War soldier because he disappeared and never returned to his Family. The Huston Family took James as a bond boy. This taken from the writings of Charlotte Huston. He is Grand Father William Hustons' Father.

The Huston Family survived this storm.
Mom would have been very small at the time of this tornado.

On April 25 1953 Martha Huston married Victor DesLauriers in Minnesota. I salute their memory on this, their 61st Wedding Anniversary! The group picture has Mary, Martha, Vic and Ralph.

Grandma said we were related to Bette Davis. Her grandmother was named Martha Davis.

Some Funnies From FAMOUS FUNNIES #60

There were Buck Rogers reprints in this book, but they are not available at the Comic Book Plus site because they are still under copyright.

Buck Rogers is visible in the background of the birthday cake picture. Presumably the Buck Rogers material produced specifically for FAMOUS FUNNIES has since passed into public domain.

Some people believe that the Red Baron was killed by ground fire. He was able to fly on for some distance after Brown fired at him and actually expired after landing his plane.
