Superman and Captain Marvel never actually fought while they were both appearing in their original comics and a lawsuit was going on that involved the publishers of both, but after the publication of Captain Marvel ceased, Superman fought a vaguely similar character who had a vaguely similar name, "Zha-Vam"!
