A submarine massacre also figured in the comic book adventures of "Captain Storm", whose crew was murdered by a Japanese submarine after it sank his torpedo boat.
While related to real life incidents*, Captain Storm's story also drew inspiration from the story of "Moby Dick", with the submarine in place of the whale
Like Captain Ahab, Captain Storm loses a leg and carries on with an artificial leg as he seeks revenge on his foe. Unlike Captain Ahab, Captain Storm finally wins. I've seen this denied on some sites, but I also have the issue where Captain Storm finally kills the killer sub. I have no idea what the problem is, unless someone wanted to change the history of the character, something which fails to change the previous issues.
*There are records of Japanese submarines that murdered the survivors from ships they had sunk, something German submarines are also known to have done.
