Funnyman

Funnyman was a later creation of Jerry Siegel and Joe Shuster, the creators of Superman, after losing that character to D.C. Comics. Funnyman is a sorta Danny Kaye character, or you might say the heroic identity of such a character, since he also has a secret identity like Clark Kent. Another character in Funnyman's adventures resembles Lois Lane. Here is the first month of episodes of Funnyman daily strip.

Funnyman

Other characters in this story resemble Lois Lane and Mxyzptlk , although Funnyman pulls a switch on the otherworld beings in his adventure by pulling pranks on them and thereby saving the day.

Birthday Of Joe Shuster

Today would have been the 100th birthday of the late Joe Shuster, who with Jerry Siegel created Superman in 1938.

Slam Bradley

Before they were able to get SUPERMAN published, Siegel and Shuster did some other comics for DC. SLAM BRADLEY was a strip done in the style of WASH TUBBS for DETECTIVE COMICS in 1938.

After having read the later comics they did with Superman and Mzyptlk, this story looks to me as if those two had teamed up under different names. Something that evidently never occurred to Siegel and Shuster.
