Popeye By Bill Zaboly

The character of Popeye was created by E. C. Segar for his comic strip THIMBLE THEATER. After Segar passed away in 1938 his strip was drawn by Bill Zaboly, who continued to work on the strip till 1959. Here are some comics from his last year. Olive Oyl seems to be missing along with most of Segar's other characters, although Bluto and Poopdeck Pappy appear. At the start of this sequence Popeye has gone to the moon and encountered a "Moon Maid" a few years before Dick Tracy did that in his strip.

Certain people make a big deal out of Donald Duck raising a ship in a way that is "scientifically accurate", but let Popeye do the same thing and somehow nobody says anything.
