Superman With Bomb
The cover of ACTION COMICS #18 shows Superman dive-bombing the enemy during the second World War.
I'd say that bomb would probably do a lot more damage than the rifle-caliber machine guns that Captain Marvel was shown shooting on the cover of WHIZ #12.
Like WHIZ COMICS, SUPERMAN sometimes showed things on the cover that were nowhere to be found in the stories inside. I think this scene of Superman with a bomb was another one of those things.
Apparently the artwork for this issue was also used for fan pictures during this period. Here is a somewhat faded copy.
I prefer the comic book version.
